Yogi is a very endearing, fun-loving and affectionate deaf dog who has won the hearts of
many shelter volunteers, friends and his trainers. He has learned hand signals and knows
to look to his person for direction. Yogi gets along with other dogs and would be a great companion
for a well-matched female. In fact, he may do best in a home with another dog from whom he can take cues and with
whom he would bond.
Yogi has undergone the training course for deaf dogs at Elite Board and Train in Sacramento, and has received the seal of approval
from this trainer, Rebecca Thompson. Yogi has learned the very basic and simple commands necessary for a deaf dog function
comfortably in the home environment. Anyone interested in foster or adopting Yogi will be offered several training sessions to learn
these simple commands. Yogi has also received training with the vibrating collar which is a device that helps deaf dogs
learn to "come" to their owner during an off-leash sessions.
Yogi is a very obedient, fun and social doggee (and quite handsome!) and we feel he will do well in any home environment.
Yogi is currently residing at Elite Dogs in Sacramento.
