Hi y'all! My name is Tula and I'm a tiny little one and a half year-old pit mix with lots of love to give. You see, I'm originally from the south, New Orleans to be exact, where us dogs sometimes don't get the love we deserve. I was abandoned and wandering the streets wounded, sick, and hungry when two gals from San Francisco crossed my path and gave me a second chance. They drove me back to this charming and chilly city by the bay, and got me to the vet right quick. It took me a couple months to recover from my heartworm, but now I'm healthy as a horse (but much much smaller than one!) and ready to find my forever friend here in the Bay Area. I'm spayed and up to date with all my shots, of course.

As I said, I've got buckets of love to give. I'm a little thing, weighing 40 pounds - I come up to most people's knee, to give you an idea. I like shaking your paw, and giving you sweet hugs too. I would do anything to be your snuggle bug, but if that's not your thing, I'm well-mannered in my doggie bed, too. I'm also a good passenger and like to check out the world while taking a ride in the car.

Besides your company, what do I love best? Food toys! Kongs, hooves, bully sticks - you name it! I LOVE to chew on my food toys, and already know that it's not okay to chew on your shoes! I'm a great housemate, and pretty darn smart if I do say so myself. I know "sit", "stay", "look", "leave it", "paw", and sometimes "down". House-trained? Of course! And if you forget that I need to go, I'll let you know by letting out a reminder bark. I'm not a high energy gal for my young pup age and am independent by nature because my beat was on the streets of New Orleans. To tell you the truth, I'd rather be home inside with chew toys and your company than being out and about runnin' amuck around town. Oh, and I love sunbathing...could sleep n dream away the good part of an afternoon under the sun.

I bark at my own reflection, but not much else. I'm good on leash, love to sniff my way around town with a confident swagger. Whenever I see a new face, I can't help myself to make new friends. I love people more than you can imagine and if I had my way, I would invite any ol' stranger into my house every single day.

Now, I must admit that I'm picky and can be a bit frisky when I see a pup that I've never met before. So, I'll need you to help teach me the ropes and with a treat in your hand, I think we will go far. They say I'll excel even more if we continue my education with training. So...c'mon, I've got so much potential and it'll be fun, to boot! In the meantime, I'd do best as the only dog in your home. Oh, and no cats, please! They're just tooooo fun to chase.

I don't do this next thing too much -- but I've still got some puppyhood in me, so when I want to play it's best you give me something to chew so I'm not tempted to play nibble on you. My fosters are teaching me that it's not okay. They ask me to sit in a firm gentle way, and I look them in the eye and do what they say.

Pit savvy people need apply. You want to know why? 'Cause I can't go back on the street or be put into a shelter where I can't eat no fresh meat.

All fun aside, I'm an easy-going girl who will be the diamond in your world. I have been given a chance and presented a whole new world. I want our life together to be forever.

So what are you waiting for? Let's get to know each other! Give my foster Silvia a call at 415.645.3234, or drop her line at silviaturchin@gmail.com.
