Your heart can't help but go out to a dog like Romey. His short life has been troubled so far.
He was relinquished to the shelter from an unstable home where he was sometimes kept tied up
under the porch. All dogs deserve better. Understandably, Romey is loving the attention
from volunteers at the shelter. Out on walks he'll trot along happily stopping to watch
passing bicyclists with interest. He loves to have his belly rubbed as he lays in the
grass at the park. It's a whole new world for this boy.
Romey is quite affectionate and responds well to instruction from his handlers. He hasn't
had the training and guidance that all puppies need yet. He can be a bit mouthy sometimes
as puppies often are. However, we think that Romey has great potential and he simply
needs the opportunity to be in a home where he is given lots of love and care from an
experienced dog owner. Romey has had some play sessions with other shelter dogs recently
and done quite well. It's a pleasure to see him enjoying the company of his fellow canines,
something he hasn't had a chance to do up until now. Hopefully, Romey will be able to put
his past way behind him and enjoy the present day with lots of doggie joy.
