Mimi

Age: 1-2 years old years
Sex: Female, Spayed
Breed: German Shepherd
Weight: 60 lbs

Mimi is a gentle, sweet, shy dog. She was picked up as a stray and placed in a county animal shelter. When taken out by the dog walkers she ignored other dogs and even a chicken so everyone assumed she'd likely get along with any companion animals. She was the thinnest dog anyone had ever seen. She was placed in a foster home and she immediately bonded to her new family. Unfortunately she apparently was jealous of the small family dog and she jumped him. Everyone was shocked because she is so good with other dogs when out on a walk. The other dog is OK but Mimi needs to find another foster home.

After that incident Mimi was taken to the vet for an examination and it was discovered that she has a severe case of EPI. This is a digestive disorder that prevents the absorption of nutrients from her food. That explains why she is so thin and maybe why she attacked the other dog. She must constantly be hungry. EPI is easily treated by putting an enzyme supplement in her food daily. A volunteer has offered to pay for this enzyme for the life of Mimi.

We are looking for a foster home for Mimi so she can have chance to gain weight and get healthy before looking for her forever home.
