Maisie

Age: 8 years
Sex: Female, Spayed
Breed: Bassett Hound
Weight: 50 lbs

We adopted Maisie from Woodland animal shelter in February 2003 and she has been a part of our family since then. We have two young children ages 4 and 2 months and she gets along just fine with them. The four year old can be quite rough with her but she has never bit him or even barked at him. Maisie sleeps in the garage on her bed since she sometimes urinates at night although we have never had a problem with that during the day. The vet says this is probably age related. She is also starting to develop cataracts. Maisie can be dog reactive while on the leash. Off leash she gets along with other dogs. She has spent time at a number of boarding facilities through the years and she has never had a problem with other dogs. She is also not the best leashed dog and pulls quite a bit. We use a gentle leader to keep her under control. This is probably our fault since we haven't been consistent with her. Maisie is up to date on her shots and is spayed. She is a very peaceful dog who loves to be part of the family. Her short legs don't slow her down she still loves to run for a ball and go for long walks.
