"Kyle" is a 6-7-yr old male Belgian Malinois mix who has calm nature, is playful and confident. Kyle
is very smart and a good protector. He is a dominant male who gets along with dogs who are familiar to
him. Kyle is very strong, and his 70 lbs is almost all muscle. He has high prey drive and will not be
good with cats, rabbits. He has an excellent off-leash recall. He is very tuned-in to his caregiver,
and learns quickly. He does very well on leash. Kyle loves to play soccer by himself or with
another person. He was brought to the Berkeley shelter as a stray in October 2007. A volunteer at the shelter saw the
good-nature in him and rescued him from the shelter and brought him to German Shepherd Rescue
of Sacramento Valley (GSRSV) were he spent 9 month. Since 11/08 Kyle has been living with his
rescuer in the city of Berkeley, CA. In 2010 Kyle was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysphasia,
as well as cartilage loss on his left elbow. He enjoy slow walks for about 20 minutes
at a time and playing with his balls. He takes pain medication and supplements.
His rescuer is a foreigner who have to leave the country for the Middle east
for an extended period of time to care for her elderly mother, regretfully she
can not take Kyle along. We are looking for the ideal foster home for our
beloved Kyle for 3-6 month. His food medicine and supplements will be supplied
and a back up person is available if needed. Kyle loves people and would benefit
from living in a home were some one is around most of the time for example retired person,
someone who works from home. Kyle is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed/neutered.
