Bertha is a sweet, happy-go-lucky girl despite having had an unusually long stay
in the shelter. Her sister, who came in with her when they were both four months old,
got adopted immediately while she has languished for so long. She deserves better!
Bertha has never really learned how to be a grown-up and still has the goofiness of a
puppy. She is still working on her manners but does walk well on a leash after she gets
her wiggles out. She knows some basic commands and loves to play with toys. Since
she does pull at first and try to walk herself (i.e. carry th
e leash in her mouth), she is
used to being walked with a prong collar and metal leash.
So smart is this girl, she still remembers that drinkable water comes out of
human water fountains after seeing me drink out of one many months ago. She checks
on every walk just to see if anything is coming out! Bertha seems to be non-aggressive
with other dog-friendly dogs and is believed to be cat-neutral. An energetic, patient
person for Bertha will be rewarded with lots of love and kisses.
